Commands delete themselves when quotation marks are added

When I tried to give a mob resistance, it wouldn’t let me.

For example, when I would type

/effect @e[name=“a mob”

It would delete all the text before the quotation mark every time I added a new letter, so it would eventually look like

”a mob”

I hope this gets fixed because I cannot teleport mobs with spaces in their names anywhere now.
