Cannot strafe sprint when playing on a mobile device with a keyboard

When using the pocket version of the game (mobile devices) with a keyboard connected to play, strafe sprinting is not possible as it can be noticed in the following scenarios:

 
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Play latest Android/iOS Edition of Minecraft:Bedrock with a keyboard connected.

2a. Try "strafe sprinting" or sprinting diagonally by holding a strafe key (a or d) first, then w
(obviously hold the sprint key when doing this)

2b. Try "strafe sprinting" by pressing a strafe key (a or d) while you are already sprinting forward.

Observed Results:
- (a) Sprinting does not get initiated at all

- (b) Sprinting gets canceled and the character starts strafing at base walking speed

Expected Results:
- (a, b) The character starts sprinting diagonally with the strafe direction
