some blocks turn darker while breaking them

some list of block, turn darker or change color when the breaking overlay is applied over them
to replicate this bug, simply trie and break blocks like:

• a lighting rod
• a piston
• a bell
• a shulker box

and you'll notice that those blocks and other ones with have a slightly distorted texture, while the breaking overlay plays.
