Bad omen effect not working when kill a Pillager captain

Hello, I am experiencing an issue where I killed a Pillager captain holding an Illager banner, but I didn't receive the Bad Omen effect in my Minecraft (bedrock Edition) game (Version 1.20). I've tried this in Survival and confirmed that I have at least two villagers in the village. Could you please look into this matter? Thank you.
