Can't join friend's game using 1.20.13 (iOS only patch)

Using my iOS iPad with 1.20.13 HitFix, I'm trying to join my sister's world on the same home network. It used to work, but after the latest update it fails to connect. My sister is hosting the world from a windows PC using bedrock 1.20.12 (latest version on Windows). Do they need to be the exact same minor version in order to connect? .13 is only available for iOS.  This used to work before updating
