Underground pumkins

Hi, I'm prety new to minecraft because I just got it for my birthday because it costed money. I heard about it from my friend Toby. Any ways. I explord my first cave ever. I was in Iron legs and had iron pickax. In one spot of the cave I noticed there was a pumkin patch. I know lush caves existid but not pumkin caves. I'm not sure if this is a fall update because I know fall and halowen are coming soon but I don't think this is intended so I'm reporting it and asking anyone who may know if this is a bug or not. Thank you so much. I am new to minecraft so I do not know much other than what my friend said to me.
