Exiting any menu such as furnace or the ESC menu increases sensitivity

When exiting any menu such as furnaces, player inventory. chests and even the ESC menu will momentarily cause the sensitivity to increase massively, causing my character to look straight up/down or spin around very quickly.

 

The amount that the momentary sensitivity increases seems to go up depending on how many menus were exited previously.
