Minecraft Bedrock; FPS below expected

Since I downloaded Minecraft on my iPad Air 5 (M1) last January, I've been experiencing major lag issues with frequent FPS drops while playing. Even if I set the render distance at 5 chunks, it still has massive FPS drops. It shouldn't be like this because other games with higher graphical power, like Genshin Impact, run at a stable 60 FPS even at the highest quality settings.
