Shulker Boxes disappeared in The End

I got 2 shulker boxes to The End to build a ender pearl farm and then I had to return to the overworld to get more resources. When I got back to The End, my 2 shulker boxes disappeared mysteriously (I verified and got back to the overworld and back to The End again and again to make sure, and yes... they weren´t there).
