swimming out of water

I used falling water as a lift. Swimming upwards and swimming out of the water column keeps you swimming on land. I have not found a solution to end the swim status on land. Back in water I was able to end the swim status.

steps to reproduce:

1. Dig a hole.
2. Fill the hole with falling water. 
3. Swim from the bottom upwards.
4. When reaching the top, swim out of the water directly.

Observed results:

you keep swimming on land..

Expected results:

Swim status should end on land. Maybe you should start running instead?

Notes:

My world was created under version 1.19 and was updated to version 1.20.
I experienced the issue on level 4 maps.
