when I join my friend's Minecraft world, he freeze and cannot move and for me when I break blocks the item does not drop and doesn't make sounds. the chunks isn't loading and my friend is frozen

when I join my friend's Minecraft world, he freeze and cannot move and for me when I break blocks the item does not drop and doesn't make sounds. the chunks isn't loading and I can't open inventory nor chest or othera. I can still move but I couldn't open my inventory breaking blocks doesn't drop the items and I also don't take damage or drowning
