Different person joined my game from a Friends List invite

A friend of mine was offline when I invited her to join my game. Someone with the same name joined my game instead. Once I realized it wasn't them, I kicked them, and my friend joined with the same name but with a "1" appended to their name. I have only seen this happen with the latest 1.20 update.
