Unable to access worlds with Internet or WiFi turned on

When WiFi or Internet is enabled, it is not possible to access the list of worlds, friends and servers. If you go to the list with the Internet or WiFi turned off and then turn on the WiFi or Internet, Minecraft hangs or crashes.
