Players going invisible and invincible and is able to place blocks and hit other players

In multiplayer servers, players are randomly going invisible while their character stands in place. They're able to hit other players and place blocks though players cannot hit or see them. This only occurred after the 1.20 update and is very frustrating to play on PvP servers where other players can go invisible at any given moment. I don't know what causes this
