Steve is gone and other bugs

When looking in the inventory Steve is not in the picture box.

1st BUG: Cannot use or see shield in the other hand to Block when crouching. Can see a totem in that same hand though.  

2nd bug: Cannot get into a boat with a chest. It keeps opening the chest in the boat.
