World reverts to older save without explanation

I tried to boot up my world for 1.20, last time I played I was in a mine. When I loaded the world, I was in my library, which has now been reverted to an earlier state. Nearby I was building near a lava pond, all that remains of it is a single twisting vine floating above the chunk.
