Items tab can't be accessed when unlocking recipes with Screen Animations turned off

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Turn off screen animations;
2. Enable the Recipe Unlocking experiment;
3. Without opening the inventory (because of MCPE-171068), get planks, a log and a flint to unlock all 4 tabs:
   Planks (construction), flint and steel (equipment), button (items) and wood (nature)
4. Open your inventory.

Observed Results:
All tabs except for the items tab show up.

Expected Results:
All tabs show up.
