Minecraft Win 10 beta fails to start

Starting the minecraft app give the Mojang startup screen and then the screen disappears again. This started happening after the "anniversary update" of windows 10.

Included are the crash traces as found in the event viewer.
If needed, I can create logman traces but I don't know the provider names to capture the helpful info.
