Adult Cows And Sheep Are Not Dying

When I use a Sticky piston to push a block over the block that Adult Cows or Sheep are on, to kill them. It does not kill them, like it used to do. Instead it is pushing the Adult Cows and Sheep, into the block underneath them, so that they end up not dying. I have come accross this problem while playing Minecraft on both the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox Series game consoles, while playing in either Creative mode or Survival mode.
