Character goes at very fact speeds by simply converting world

I have a world on Minecraft XBOX ONE EDITION, aka the legacy edition. Upon converting the world to the NEW Minecraft, I go at extremely fast, making the game not fun. I've tried converting the world on more than one occasion., and each time the same issue appears.
