Hasitem selector not working with firework star

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Get a firework star (preferably all types)
2. Run the following command:

/execute if entity @s[hasitem={item=firework_star}] run say test succeeded 

Expected Results:
The message "test succeeded" is output

Observed Results:
Returns error "Execute subcommand if entity test failed."
