Blocks are unable to be placed or crafted with after mining/collecting them

When you mine a block, like dirt, cobblestone, wood, and sometimes blocks like furnaces, chests, and crafting tables, will be unable to be placed. 

For example, if I mine some dirt and go to place it, it will glitch and not let me place it. With blocks that you can craft with, it won't let you craft them, it essentially puts the item back in your inventory. If there is an empty space, sometimes the game will bug and not let item(s) into that inventory slot. 

The bug has been happening more frequently and other users on my world are experiencing the issue.
