Hand and pumpkin GUI do not appear.

Hand and pumpkin GUI do not appear sometimes, only after restarting the app a few times. Skins do not work, either. I have tried to tinker with options.txt, but I only managed to get as far as being able to use the standard Steve skin. Device is Sony C5503
