PS4 version on PS5 always requires sign in at start of game

I just recently purchased a PS5 and set up Minecraft on it.  I previously ran Minecraft on Xbox and Nintendo Switch without any problems. 

After starting the game on the PS5, I am asked to sign in and everything works correctly.  After the game is closed and then opened again, I am asked to sign in again every single time.  This account has never signed in on a Playstation before.  Other family members who already have logged into their Xbox accounts through their PS5 do not have any problems.

 

Another family member created a new xbox account and a new PS account and logged in to Minecraft, but had the same problem after the game was closed again and reopened.
