Shift placing blocks onto items with inventories dose not work it just opens the inventory

I was trying to place a hopper onto my furnace which I was able to do yesterday before the update but now I am unable to do it the inventory of any item i try to place any block on will open instead of the block placing. the block will look like it was placed then the inventory will open and the block will disappear.
