Dying of fall damage while falling down a 1x1 hole

While falling down a 1x1 hole, you seem to sometimes take fall damage simply by rubbing against the wall. It is possible that this glitch also applies to simply falling while rubbing against a wall, but I haven’t tested it. Attached is a clip of me trying to go down my bubble elevator and losing my dragon levels. This has happened to me multiple times, however sometimes I take chip damage and sometimes I die immediately like I do in the clip.
