Says "Unable to connect. Please restart your client. P2P/SIG: no_session(0x80004005)" when trying to join a multiplayer game

My little sister and I have a world that she created and invited me to join into. We have been playing this world for months now however since updating to 1.19.62, I have been unable to connect to the world with this error message:

Unable to connect. Please restart your client. P2P/SIG: no_session(0x80004005)

No idea how to fix this, we've tried checking for updates, restarting both devices, logging out and back in, changing from wifi to data and back, and nothing seems to be working.

Just in case its relevant, my sister hosts the world on her ipad in New Zealand and I join the world on my android phone in Australia. There have been minimal problems playing together despite the device differences so far.
