Nether Portal Connection to Wrong Portal

On a test world for my Realm world I have a standard 3x2 nether portal in the overworld (cords x:8183, y:63, z: 3820/3821) which is linked to another standard portal in the nether (cords x:1084, y:50, z:477/478). That's over 30 chunks of space which is not the 128 blocks or 8 chunk explained in sources like the wiki.
