Loss of certain items

I was playing minecraft the day before and I died in the nether. I get most of my stuff ( half diamond armor and diamond and one nethrite tool) but next time I load in my armor and hotbar items are gone. I went to where I died and they weren't there. Just duplicates of what was kept
