Cannot view friends online to join game

I cannot view my friends that are online since the update.  My son is on his Xbox playing our family world and I cannot join him.  It was fine before the update and now can't access multi-player.  I don't know if there is a multi-player issue or what as I have another reported bug that even xbox to xbox it won't join the world even though we can see the friends list there.  Don't delete this one for having 2 issues in the body I am just using it as a reference to help you all.  I have already reported the second bug seperately.
