Completed Achievments Not Unlocking

I started playing survival mode on MC;PE, I linked to my Xbox Live account but noticed achievements don't unlock as they are completed. All the simple ones (Create a wooden sword, build a furnace, etc) failed to unlock but when I built a Netherportal it unlocked about a day later.
