Minecraft Windows 10 Edition / Oculus Rift - "Failed to launch Minecraft"

When I attempt to launch Minecraft WIndows 10 Edition Beta, the main Minecraft window comes up in Oculus VR, and states that it's "Launching!"

But shortly after that I receive the message that it "Failed to launch Minecraft"

The only menu option I have is to Exit. No other details are provided.
