Missing character creator items on most recent update

When I enter Minecraft today, I noticed that my character's mouth is missing, and my skin color is somehow lighter. When I try to re-equip the mouth, I noticed that it's not on the character creator's list of items anymore. My mouth was a straight mouth with blush, and I was using Alex's base skin.
