No response when pressing buttons

When I go onto minecraft on my xbox series s there is no response when pressing some or all buttons. I decided to power cycle my xbox. It worked. But whenever I close the game it does the same thing. I really don't want to constantly reset my console everything just to play minecraft. Please help.
