Not being able to select anything on the Minecraft main menu - Bedrock, Xbox series S/X

The following issue occurs with the OS restarted and up to date, as well as the controller. Whenever I open up the game, it will load in fine. When the menu opens, I can navigate between the different selections but I cannot select anything (by pressing A on my brand new controller).

Random times, it will go back to normal and let me play. Then the issue would reappear again. I have tried numerous different troubleshooting items and have not been able to resolve the issue. 

This was also occurring on the 1.19.40 version as well.
