Minecraft main menu not functional

When I load minecraft, the startup states syncing user data. The screen then pops up with a narrator window that provides the option to turn off or keep on narrator. I cannot select between these options or proceed forward to play the game. The other issue that occurs is the same thing as the narrator window, but with a realms subscription notification that asks me if I want to renew or learn more (I canceled the subscription already).  The game works fine on a different profile on the Xbox but not mine (the account that I purchased it with).
