Honeylevel of the beehive doesn't increas

After one hours of standing afk in front of my beehives, I used a redstone comperator to see if the honeylevel increases, but after another hour standing next to the beehive, the comperators redstone output was still the same. I've tested it also in a creative world and after one hour more, with always day, the redstone output of the comperator was still zero.
