Will upgrading a very old world (from 1.0 etc), to the newest update make strange world generation?

Will upgrading a very old world (from 1.0 etc), to the newest update make strange world generation? 

I read and watched a few videos about world corruption and things related to that, and some made me worried. Some youtubers said that if you upgrade a very old world from like 1.0 to the newest version, 1.19, it might make strange terrain generation and make chunk errors/cliffs as they said. I don't know if it is true or not.

This is not really a bug or a question, it is a bit of both.
