Boats/ Chest Boats disappearing when traveling through nether portals

Boats and Chest Boats simply disappear when I'm moving them through nether portals. I cant quite tell if they phase through the ground, I only notice them being gone when i travel through the nether portal. (so far ive only tested this in realms)
