Loss of Inventory when exiting game without saving and exiting

This is the 2nd time I have lost my entire inventory and armor when exiting the game. I do admit, I did not save and exit my world but I've lost many resources, tools and food due to this bug. Thank you for reviewing my statement and I hope this helps.
