Worlds disappearing after update

Half my worlds dissappeared or were like brought back earler in the worlds history like I had some diamond tools then it went back to when I had stone tools, after I downloaded a new update and a second version of the game icon appeared when I look at my apps. The new version is playable and is the exact same as the other verson
