Elytra press up go up

I was playing around in one of my worlds with an elytra when I noticed that if I was in creative mode and I pressed up (new controls) I went up really fast and I wasn’t flying with creative flying because I used /ability to turn my flying off. I had education edition and spectator mode experiments if that helps.
