Items Gone from Nether Portal Glitch

As I was entering the Overworked through a Nether Portal, I accidentally placed my shulker box outside the portal and my game crashed. When I reenetered my world, my shulker box and the contents inside are nowhere to be found, and I didn't have the means to retrieve it before the next auto-save.
