Shadows flicker for a single frame when placing/breaking blocks

When placing blocks in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition on PC it causes shadows to appear for a single frame. The rapid flashing light changes give me massive headaches when playing and I can't spend much time building/mining underground because of it. I have not observed this problem when playing in daylight, only when in caves/underground or lower light levels.
