Kindle Fire crash and missing worlds

I've been playing Minecraft PE on Kindle for a month and a half.  The game kept crashing but I thought it was because the file size kept expanding.  I was playing my world, the game crashed.  It logged me out of the game.  When I logged back in, my worlds were gone.  I had just created a backup copy.  There were some 100 worlds but they are not there now.

 

I just saw an article posted today that said Minecraft is no longer available in the Amazon store.  Was there some  update today that impacted it?  Is is possible to recover the missing worlds and transfer them to the PC for further backup?
