Minecraft PE 0.15 update black screen at startup Android 4.0

Since updating to 15.0 on my Sony tablet, game will not start. When tapping the icon to open the game a black screen appears for a few seconds then closes back to the tablet home screen. Tried several times to uninstall and re-install with the same effects. There are many people having this same issue with different devices running android. See the Forums for more info.
