Multiplayer Online Unable to Connect to World

Using Xbox account to play multiplayer online with friends not working. Says "Unable to join world" if I try to join their world or if they try to join mine. This issue has been occurring for many people. Multiplayer works when using the same Xbox account on my PS4.
