Stuck on building terrain screen after I died :(

I had been killed by a creeper and the screen went red, but the 'respawn' and 'back to menu' option were only there for a few seconds and the screen was stuck on red. I left the world by another way and when i tried to rejoin it just got stuck on the loading screen. Im guessing it wasnt able to go back to my spawn point. I havent been able to fix it, please help.
