Apple Pencil Not Detected in MCBE after Update

Minecraft Bedrock updated from 1.19.2 to 1.19.1 overnight.  Upon trying to play new version, Apple Pencil does not work in Minecraft to click anything - touch screen works fine with fingers.  Nothing has changed in settings and Apple Pencil works fine in all other applications on iPad.
