Chunks load slow and can't travel fast with Elytra

The chunks load slow and it is impossible to travel fast. When using my elytra in minecraft I can't fly far before the world needs to load. It takes forever and it is impossible to travel fast. I usually have my chunk load at 8 chunks and it has trouble doing that.
